10 New Year’s Resolutions for Kansas City in 2017

New year, new city? 2016 saw its fair share of ups and downs, so to guarantee that 2017 is the best year ever, here are a few resolutions KC should set for itself.

Let’s start 2017 off right with the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl, followed by the Royals dominating in the World Series and then Sporting KC clinching the MLS Cup. Go big or go home.

2. More Dontari Poe memes

It’s the Christmas gift that needs to keep on giving.

3. Expand the streetcar route

How about expanding the streetcar route next year, KC? Walking around is way too mainstream. The cool kids ride the streetcar, and they want to go to The Plaza.

4. Speed up the construction

Yes, construction ultimately helps. BUT it’s also a pain, and it feels like it takes (I)35 years to complete.

5. Less snow, please

The snow is great for our Instagram accounts but not so much for our driving… or our comfort… or our sanity.

6. Warmer Chiefs game days

No one would be upset if we never have to sit through another frigid game at Arrowhead like we’re Randy from “A Christmas Story.”

7. More local businesses

What better way to support Kansas Citians than by opening (and supporting) more local businesses? You know the hipsters would love it.

8. The Economy Parking bus picks you up the second after you park

Hey, one can dream, right?

9. Not waiting as long for Google Fiber

You could go through pregnancy in the amount of time it takes Google Fiber to install its services in your house. Yes, nine months. Here’s to hoping Google will show up on your doorstep before you even have the baby name picked out.

10. City-wide Pizza Mondays

OK, just hear us out on this one. Sure, Mondays are the worst, but they wouldn’t be as bad if everyone in the city got pizza. Pizza makes everything better.
