Meet the Cast of the KC Royals Hollywood Movie

If it wasn’t happening before our eyes, this Kansas City Royals dream season would be impossible to believe. C’mon. The small market, basement-dwelling Royals going against the big, bad San Francisco Giants in the World Series? Sounds like a movie script straight out of Hollywood.

Which got us thinking. This incredible, unlikely underdog story needs to be turned into a big screen flick. Like a Moneyball meets Major League meets Lost in Translation (Welcome back, Sung Woo!) hybrid. And when that day comes, we’ve got the perfect cast ready to roll.

    • I’m thinking Larry The Cable Guy would be a more appropriate Billy Butler.

  1. Roberto Manrique or Eduardo Verásategui would be much better than Damon Wayans, Jr. to play Perez.

  2. Alex Gordon and Matthew Lillard may as well be the same guy. Plus, Lillard has played a ballplayer before in a movie. Other than that, I dig it!

    • Matthew Lillard would have to do some major bulking up but I can see it.
I love Will Sasso for Billy Butler.
      Love Jason Biggs for Shields.
Need to recast Moose and Hosmer!!!

  4. Oliva Wilde needs to be in the mix.. she was at Royals World Series game in a KC jersey also.. Put her in the role of the “low talking” Fox sports game announcer that acted like they interrupted a moment during game 2.. maybe a love interest of Sun Woo Lee … which could be played by K Pop Star Psy.. Gangum style LOL

This is our casting wish list. No one that we’ve heard of has announced any kind of movie plans, but we totally think there should be one.

The person who wrote this probably has a pretty good case for a raise, to be honest.

      • I was rooting for Whitney but it was really stale. Seemed like she just wanted a reason to wear the nurse costume (and she did wear it well) but there was nothing fresh about the comedy at all. Two Broke Girls had more interesting things going for it.Prime Suspect and Person of Interest both have great potential.

  13. Why can’t Mazuma Mike play Alex Gordon? He is an actor, right?

    Post a Reply
    • mazuma

Mike would probably manage to get hit in the face with a ball hard enough to break his nose before they got done filming the first scene. He’s not exactly Mr. Coordinated.

  14. Perez should be played by Coby Bell. He played Jesse in Burn Notice, and I’ve always thought Perez looks like him.

      • Cet infinitif “agresser” me gêne également.

    • That song is known as the 'Whistling Gypsy', but at the end it's revealed the the Gyps is really a lord. Probably because true gypsy/trvelers don't have kings or anything like that. Although my Grandfather's word was law in the family.

    • The next time I read a blog, Hopefully it won’t disappoint me just as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, nonetheless I actually believed you’d have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could possibly fix if you weren’t too busy seeking attention.

And while I’m at it, here’s a view of the by age group in income for the number of people at every income level from $0 to $95,000 USD, which reveals that the number of those individuals earning the lowest incomes decreased between 1995 and 2005, while the numbers of those earning greater incomes increased. If you’d like to see the big picture (all age groups added together), . Finally, if you’d like to see many of Schiller’s arguments made many months ago, see the to the series!

  18. I think Amaury Nalasco looks so much like Hoz, especially when the sun is in Hoz’s eyes. Although Amaury is not quite nearly as tall as Eric. I like the thought of Captain America playing A1.

  21. While Brian Cranston would be awesome… I think Ned Yost ought to be played by someone a little more mediocre, like Richard Gere… And like Pride of the Yankees, George Brett will play himself and tell Mike Moustakas about one of the times he crapped his pants…
